CHAUTAUQUA-BY-THE-SEA
2012 Season Review in Pictures
Summer 2013 - 133rd Season
The seaside Chautauqua community of Ocean Park, ME has 132 years of history
and heritage as a summer assembly in the Chautauqua tradition.
Founded
in 1881, Ocean Park is
a retreat to the quiet of the pines and the beach offering lectures,
workshops, family programs, and opportunities for spiritual growth and
renewal in a non-denominational, inter-faith setting. The Temple Garden and pergola can provide you with a time for quiet reflection or
meditation and at the end of your stay, you will go home feeling just a bit
more content and looking forward to your next Ocean Park encounter.
The seven mile
beach and the surrounding marsh and forest land are national treasures.
The historic buildings of Ocean Park are listed on the National Register
of Historic Places and most listings of the nation's finest beaches
include the stunning seven mile beach, where kids of all ages play,
swim, surf, and build castles in the sand. Isn't it time to visit?
Be sure to stop by or visit Ocean Park Realty on the web to secure your
lodging accommodations for 2013. Maddie Paquette, our Agency Realtor is ready
to assist you.

This past summer photographer Seth Thompson spent some time taking panoramic images of the Temple and Jordan Hall. He is working on a project called "Sacred Spaces of New England" and chose our buildings as one of his New England focal points. He has kindly allowed us to use links to his site so that we can promote the interior images of our buildings and his hard work. We invite you to enjoy his beautiful work.

Guess Who is Coming to Town?
Raleigh Ringers, that's who! Raleigh Ringers is an internationally acclaimed, advanced community handbell choir based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The group has performed in 34 states, and several cities in France. Lucky for us, their one and only stop in the state of Maine will be at our very own Temple here in Ocean Park! You may have seen them on TV, heard them on the radio, or watched one of their concerts in person, but you cannot miss out on this once in a lifetime chance to see them live in the Temple! The show is on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 7:30 PM in the Temple (50 Temple Avenue, Ocean Park, ME, 04063). Tickets are $12, and may be purchased anytime before the show. You can call (207) 934-9068, or email opa@oceanpark.org. Don't miss it! Check out their website for more information! http://www.rr.org/ |
