Library Programs

Story Time is every Thursday, 10:00 am to 10:30 am, June 30 to September 1. Volunteers read stories to children in the children's section of the Memorial Library. Volunteer readers are assigned and coordinated by Noreen Conlan. If you would like to volunteer or need more information, contact the Memorial Library.

Tails to Read is offered on select Tuesdays this summer. Come meet Bosco on July 12 and 26, and again on August 9 and 23, from 9:00 to 10:00am. The Library will be closed to the general public during this time to give each child uninterrupted time to read to Bosco, a 7-year-old chocolate Lab, who lives on Ferry Beach in Saco with his owner and best friend, Tony DeBarros. Bosco has a Canine Good Citizen Certificate from the American Kennel Club and is a registered therapy dog, and has lots of listening experience from working with children. Children interested in reading need to sign up for a ten-minute slot and prepare a book to read. When it is their turn, they will be reading one-on-one to Bosco with Tony looking on. Sign up can be done at the library or by calling us at 934-1853.

Ways to Give to the Ocean Park Memorial Library

NEW! The library has an Amazon.com account and you can now purchase books for the library from the library's wish list. Books are posted as they are added to the wish list so they do not appear in categories. The Amazon web site will walk you, the gift buyer, through the process, but you will need to add the Librry's address to your Amazon address book, so that the book(s) you choose will be shipped directly to the Library.

VOLUNTEER! We invite you to consider joining our library committee, assist with our book sales, or the librarian can always use an extra hand to complete a project.

GIVE! We have a donation jar that is available in the library and many visitors and residents drop money in when they visit. Also, patrons donate above and beyond their membership dues/fee to keep our library strong and to show their appreciation and love of the library.
