Ocean Park, Maine , a community in the town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, was founded in 1881 by Free Baptist leaders as an interdenominational summer assembly.
The Assembly Program - comprised of religious, cultural, educational and recreational activities and events - which continues under the auspices of the Ocean Park Association, still defines and creates Ocean Park's unique character.
The community of Ocean Park is a prime vacation destination, as well as a year round home for an increasing number of families. In addition to the rich and varied Assembly Program, our beach and some of the surrounding areas are national treasures. Most listings of the nation's finest beaches include the grand strand of Saco Bay - stretching seven miles from Saco to Scarborough.
All of Ocean Park is a State of Maine Game Preserve, and there are several walking trails through the Groves of Cathedral Pines. The plants and birds of Ocean Park have been widely catalogued and interested persons may pick up a trail guide at the Temple or purchase a pamphlet, "The Plants and Flowers of Ocean Park" by Ocean Parkers Ted and Dot Wells, at the Ocean Park gift shop. Adjacent to our community is part of the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, recently expanded by 315 more acres through a purchase by the Maine Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.

Ocean Park is on the beautiful southern coast of Maine, 15 miles south of Portland in the town of Old Orchard Beach.
The Portland Jetport is serviced by Delta, United, Continental, USAir and feeder lines. Ground transportation is available at the Jetport.
Interstate bus service to Portland is available out of Boston. There are buses from Portland to Old Orchard Beach and Saco. A shuttlebus operates between Old Orchard Beach, Saco and Biddeford and one of the runs goes through Ocean Park.
If you are driving to Ocean Park, take Exit 5 (Saco) off the Maine Turnpike (I-95). Follow the turnpike connector I-195, which leads to Ocean Park.
After the road narrows, you will come to an intersection. Proceed across this intersection keeping Christy's convenience store on your left.
You are now on Temple Avenue and will be in Ocean Park when crossing the railroad tracks.
