June 30: Walking Tour of the Ocean Park Town Center
Ever wonder what the inside of the Curtis looks like, or where the stones from the Library’s fireplace originated? Who exactly were the Free Baptists? Come join Ginny McCall , Beth Keene and Anne Parsons Marchant to learn this and more. This meeting will gather on the Library porch at 7:00 pm.

July 7: If These Bricks Could Talk, the Biddeford/Saco Mill Girls
Presented by Liz Mansfield of the Biddeford Mills Museum. Learn all about the huge old brick mill buildings along the Saco River and the women who worked in those mills. DIscover the role the Mills Girls played in the success of the Biddeford/Saco textile industry. earn all about their daily lives and the community they enhanced. Cost is $5.00

July 14: The Story of Big Nate
Ocean Park Resident Lincoln Pierce will present his story of how he became the cartoonist/illustrator and created his popular comic strip. Big Nae, which is also a TV program on Nickelodeon. Bring the kids or grandkids to meet the man behind Big Nate and his friends. Cost is $5.00

July 21: Take a Hike: Trails from Saco Bay to Portland
Come learn about trails to walk, bike and explore from representatives in the know from area Trail groups, OOB Conservation Commission and the Loranger Memorial School. Cost is $5.00

July 28: Ghost Stories, the Other Side
Presented by the Maine Paranormal Society which uses the latest technology to claim or disclaim the possible existence of paranormal phenomenon. Learn more about the possible existence of life after death, haunting, poltergeist activity, spirit communication, residual haunting and anything that goes bump in the night. Cost is $5.00

August 4: Now That’s a Trail
Come here Ocean Park resident Doug Burns describe the adventures that await you oon the Appalachian Trail. Cost is $5.00

August 11: History and Hospitality at the Cummings Guest House – A Green Book Landmark
Presented by Mark Christoforo. Discover the remarkable story of the Cummings Guest House in OOB- one of Maine’s few sites listed in the Green Book that offered safe lodging for Black Travelers during the Jim Crow era. Their famous guests included Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway and Count Basie. Learn how this home played a role in the Maine’s civil rights history. Cost is $5.00

August 18: Embracing Hope in Poetry & Art at Porter Hall
David and Patricia Jackson present words of great poets accompanied by images form noted artists, including Winslow Homer, reflecting this year’s OP theme, Embrace hope. Cost is $5.00

August 25: All Washed Up
Join us as Dr. Michelle Caputo from UNE explains the mysterious shore creatures that we find walking the beach and touches on the roles of our aquatic friends in our region (whales, dolphins and porpoises). Cost is $5.00
