Ocean Park’s Independence Day Celebrations to commemorate our country’s 250th anniversary include
THURSDAY, JULY 2
Don’t forget about the Annual Sand Sculpture Competition which will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 PM on the beach between Randall and Ancona Avenues. This year’s theme is “Sea Creatures.” You can pick up the rules and registration form for your family at the OPA office after Memorial Day or on site the day of the event. Judging will begin at 5:30 and winners announced at 6:00 on the beach.
Remember – low tide is at 7:25 this day. 
FRIDAY, JULY 4
Events are currently Tentative! Awaiting word from the city regarding our Permit.
8:00 AM Decorated Bicycle Contest Rec Hall
Kids, decorate your bikes at home and bring them to the Rec Hall for judging. Prizes for the top 3 finishers! Then ride them in the Parade!
8:45 AM Ocean Park Band rehearsal Porter Hall
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Art Show and Sale by Saco Bay Artists Library Lawn
9:55 AM Kazoo Band line up/practice for parade Bell Tower
No director, no music…no problem! Open to all ages
10:00 AM 75th Annual Independence Day Parade (Due to permit restrictions, all parade participants must be registered at the OPA office or at the Temple on the Day of the event.) Aboslutely no candy may be thrown from vehicles. Please help us stay in compliance with city rules.
Free popsicles are provided for all young parade participants at the Bell Tower after the Parade, courtesy of Steven and Judy Breitmaier, owners of The Soda Fountain & Variety Store.
10:45 AM Ocean Park Band Concert
The Ocean Park Band will offer an Independence Day celebration concert following the parade featuring popular patriotic marches such as Souza, Fillmore, Cohen and others. If rain, the concert will be at the Temple.
4-6 pm Corn Hole Competition on the LIbrary lawn
7:00 PM Line Dancing in the Village Square. Put on your dancing shoes (or boots!) and come on down for a fun time in front of Jakeman Hall with instructor Skyler Miller.
