Theater Dance Camp
“Best of Broadway” Theater Dance Camps at the Temple (sponsored by The Educational Bureau)
July 10-14 and July 31-August 4
9:00-9:45 am: Theater Dance Camp registration and warm-up for all enrolled campers. Contact Sandra Kurkjy at (207) 899-5139.
9:45-11:00 am: “Best of Broadway” Theater Dance Camp (ages 6-12). Cost: $75/week.
11:00 am-12:00 pm: “Best of Broadway” Theater Dance Camp (ages 12-18). The focus is on the musical numbers of Broadway’s Bob Fosse. Registration is at 10:30 am. Cost: $75/week. Cost to participate in both the 9:45 and 11:00am sessions is $100/week. A mini-production is on Friday at 11:30 am.
Art Explorers Camp
Art Explorers Camp (ages 7-12) at Jordan Hall (sponsored by The Educational Bureau
July 17-21
9:00-11:00 am: Explore different art mediums & projects with art teacher Kim Moore. Cost: pre-registration for the week is $80/week or $20/day. Contact Beth Keene at keene1512@aol.com to pre-register. Max 12 participants. Projects displayed Friday at 11:00 am.
Ecology Adventure Camp
Ecology Adventure Camp (ages 6-12) based at Porter Hall (sponsored by The Educational Bureau)
July 24-26
9:00 am-12:00 pm: This 3-day field trip based camp offers the opportunity to explore the ecology of the pine forest, salt marsh & the beach. Cost: $20/day. Pre-register with Jane Goldstein at janelgoldstein@gmail.com. Same day registration – 8:45, Porter Hall.
Beach Olympics Camp
Beach Olympics Camp (ages 6-13) at Jordan Hall (sponsored by The Educational Bureau)
August 7-11
9:00-11:30 am: Games/relays/races on the beach, emphasis on fun & friendly team competition. Awards ceremony Friday at 11:00. Pre-registration is $80/week. Same day registration is $20/day. Contact Beth Keene at keene1512@aol.com to pre-register. Group meets daily at Jordan Hall (side entrance, Temple side) before heading to the beach. (Teens 14-18 needing volunteer certification welcome).
Improv/Comedy Classes
Improv/Comedy Classes return!
Children and teens can find their funny bone in these fun improvisational classes and showcases led by Tyler Paterson.
Six 2-hour sessions will be offered this summer: The first hour of each session is for ages 6-12, followed by ages 13-18.
The first class is building characters; second class is building scenes; and the final showcase (family, friends and community welcome) puts it all together.
The first 2 classes are held at the Rec Hall, 7-9 pm, and the final showcase will be at Jordan Hall at 7:00 pm.
No cost thanks to the generous support of the William & Elsie Hurter Education Fund.
