While exploring the Guild Park Trails, discover the Guild Park Memorial Covered Bridge, located diagonally across from Bridge Street. It was erected in 1944 and dedicated to all the veterans of WWII. The bridge spans the brook near the upper end of Temple Avenue leading into the cathedral pine grove known as Guild Park. In 2012 it was rededicated to honor all veterans who served on behalf of the United States. Maps and walking trail guides for all of Ocean Park and Old Orchard can be requested at the shuffleboard courts.
Linda is a 4th generation Ocean Parker and has been coming to Ocean Park for the summer for most every year of her life. She and her husband, Mark met at Colby College and since retirement, they spend summers on Mass. Ave in the cottage that Linda’s dad built in the early 1960’s. When not in Ocean Park, they live in Concord, MA. She and Mark are the proud parents of three sons and two grandsons.
Linda retired in 2020 as Vice President of the Project Management Team at Motus. She worked in software development as a systems analyst in her early career and moved into Project Management later. Linda has been involved in OPA committee work for many years, including Leadership & Nominating, Religious & Cultural, Library, served as Program Director, 1995-97 and has also served on the Board a number of times.
