Reminder of several State and local laws:
- If you have an emergency and need the Police, Fire, or Ambulance, please call 911
- No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in any of the following places:
a) On a sidewalk
b) In front of a pubic or private driveway
c) Within an intersection
d) Within 15 ft of a fire hydrant
e) On a crosswalk
f) Within 20 ft of the near corner of the car at an intersection
g) Within 3 ft upon approach to any flashing beacon stop sign, or traffic control signal at the side
of a roadway - No dogs are allowed on the beach from Memorial Day until Labor Day between the hours of 10am and 5pm (9am to 5pm in Ocean Park)
- While operating a motor vehicle in the State of Maine the driver and passenger(s) must wear seat belts.
- No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the public, including the beach.
- You must be 21 years of age or older to possess or consume alcohol in the State of Maine
- It is a crime if you knowingly procure, or in any way aid or assist in procuring, furnish, give, sell or deliver liquor for or to a person under the age of 21.
- It is a crime for a person 21 years of age and older to operate a motor vehicle while having 0.08% or more by weight of alcohol in the blood. For a person under the age of 21, the legal limit is 0.00% (ZeroTolerance.) Please remember: if you drink and drive, you lose.
USE AND SALE OF CONSUMER FIREWORKS PROHIBITED. No person shall use, sell, or offer for sale consumer fireworks within the Town of Old Orchard Beach. Failure to comply is a civil violation punishable by a penalty of not less than $100.00 and not more than $2500 plus attorney’s fees and costs.
