Associate & Affiliate Organizations
The following organizations are recognized by the Ocean Park Association (OPA) Board of Directors as being in relationship with the OPA. Each has its own governance and membership. Their program offerings are integrated into the program listings on this website, and are open to all.
Associate Organizations
The Educational Bureau of Ocean Park is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and improvement of the community through activities providing for spiritual, mental and physical needs. Founded in 1885 and incorporated in 1888, the Bureau provides Theatre Dance Camps, Ecology Adventure Camp, Beach Olympics Camp and an Art Travelers Camp. The Bureau owns The Curtis Guest House and The Blake Cottage.
Oceanwood is a Christian Camp and Conference Center located on the southwest side of Ocean Park. It’s a warm, friendly and fun destination where lives are transformed and hearts are renewed. The community and culture are built on Christian human values, we’re welcoming of everyone regardless of their race, physical ability, gender, sexual orientation/identity, or creed.
The Pines is the familiar designation for The Pines at Ocean Park and Pinewood Manor, senior living communities on Manor Street. Located across from Oceanwood’s horse corrals, since 1972 The Pines’ mission has been to provide safe, affordable and attractive housing with services for people age 62+ and under 62 with documented disabilities. In cooperation with the OPA and other local organizations, a number of programs and groups meet at The Pines Community Building.
Affiliate Organizations
The Christian Youth Conference at Ocean Park, formerly known as New England Baptist Youth Conference, has a rich history of providing unique summer learning experiences for Christian youth on the beautiful coast of Maine since 1915. CYC offers a two-week conference structured to appeal specifically to senior-high youth, helping them develop the faith they need to face the challenges of high school and young adulthood in today’s society. The Conference takes place each August at Oceanwood. Ocean Park people are welcome to attend the daily chapel service and other events as listed in the OP calendar.
The Ocean Park Bates Club recognizes the strong connections between Bates College, in Lewiston Maine, and the founding and development of Ocean Park. The Club invites all alumni, current students, parents and friends to the annual meeting for a light meal, fellowship and updates from college representatives.
The Ocean Park Religious Society has been organizing off-season worship since 1889.
Saco Bay Artists meets year-round at the Saco Parks and Recreation Building, 75 Franklin Street, Saco, Maine. On the second Monday of each month there is a demonstration/talk by a local artist which is open to the public. You do not have to be a member of Saco Bay Artists to attend as all are welcome.
Dedicated to the promotion of art in and around the Saco Bay area, the group sponsors three art shows on the Ocean Park Library lawn during the summer season.

State of Maine Writers’ Conference began in 1941 to provide “an informal meeting place of inspiration and instruction for all persons interested in the writing arts, whether prose or poetry, whether or not they themselves are writers.”
